WMAC OPEN 10K is an exhilarating race like no other! Join us for a 10-kilometer summer challenge on the 18th of August, packed with excitement and adventure. It's not just a race; it's a high-energy celebration of pure joy and your style of athleticism. Don't miss out on this exhilarating experience!

As a participant, you will not only receive a fantastic medal but also a seeding-qualifying result for the Göteborgsvarvet 2025.

RESULTS

THE NON QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY

This is an open race! It is open to recreational and professional runners and athletes of all levels.

The registration fee is 495 SEK or 45 EUR. This includes energy replenishment during the race, and a seeding result for Göteborgsvarvet 2025. When you cross the finish line, a well-deserved medal will also be waiting for you.

RACE COURSE

Welcome to the inviting environments of Slottsskogen and take part in a 10-kilometer challenge. The course consists of two laps of approximately 5 kilometers each, with terrain that is gently undulating. Although the main feature of the course is its flatness, it offers some gentle uphills and downhills along the way, providing just the right amount of variation.

With the cool breeze rustling through the trees and the melodic sounds of nature as your soundtrack, every step of this track will give you a taste of adventure.

Please note that the start is located in the middle of Slottsskogen, approximately 1 km from the bib pickup area. Make sure to arrive early when collecting your bib. More information about bib pickup and opening hours can be found further down the page.

Get ready to experience the adrenaline rush as we take on the stunning world championship race course in the beautiful surroundings of Slottsskogen City Park and create som good memories together!

RACEDAY: 18 AUGUST
The race starts at 10:00 AM in the middle of Slottsskogen and finishes at Margeretebergsgatan.
The finish line closes at 12:00 PM.

There are warm-up areas at the start in Slottsskogen, and the warm-up will be led by Friskis & Svettis starting at 9:40 AM.

Age limit: 17 years
Registration fee: 495 SEK.

Registration is open until August 17th at 11:59 PM (with reservation to earlier sell-out). All registration is done via the website. No on-site registration.

Arrive prepared:Essential Information

BIBS

You will receive your start certificate via your e-mail a few days before the race. The race bib is picked up at the Technical Information Center in the House of Athletics (Friidrottens Hus), during the dates and hours listed below. We recommend that you collect your bib well in advance before the start and don't forget your start certificate.

TIC opening hours:

August 17: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
August 18: 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

Please note that the start takes place in Slottsskogen, about 1 km from the bib distribution, so make sure to arrive in good time.

TIME KEEPING

WMAC 10K OPEN is a timed race of 10 kilometers. The time is kept using an electronic chip inside the number tag, which is already attached to your race bib when you pick it up. The finish line closes at 12.00 pm.

The race applies net time, the timing starts when you cross the start line. So, there's no need to crowd at the start.

WARM UP

There are warm-up areas available at the start.

DRESSING ROOMS AND BAG STORAGE

You can leave your bag in the bag storage near the start line. Use the sticker with your race number on it that you receive along with your race bib. All bags will then be transported to the finish area, where you can pick up your bag near the finish line on Margretebergsgatan. The bag storage is staffed, but we still like to remind you that you hand in your belongings at your own risk.

Please arrive to the event changed and ready, changing rooms and showers are not provided. Toilets are located in the start and finish area.

AWARDS

All participants receive a medal and the first 500 registrants will receive our commemorative t-shirt, valued as priceless but priced at 10 EUR in the shop, as a bonus.
If you have a race number between 1-500, you are entitled to a T-shirt. The requested size on your registration will be accommodated as much as possible but cannot be guaranteed.

REFRESHMENTS

Race refreshments will be provided to all participants during the race.

ARRIVAL AND PARKING OPTIONS

Utilize public transportation whenever possible. The closest stops are Botaniska Trädgården, Marklandsgatan and Linnéplatsen. You can use the Västtrafik To Go application, Reseplaneraren or visit vasttrafik.se to plan your route. Parking is available for an environmental fee of 100 SEK at Dalens Grusplaner near Slottsskogsvallen. Payment via Swish.

AFTER THE RACE

After the race, you are warmly invited to join us at the championship stadium to bask in the excitement of a full day of World Championship athletics and a delightful atmosphere. Feel free to take a stroll through the Athlete's Village in the park just outside the championship stadium and buy something to eat and enjoy your own accomplishments together with the rest of the world.
